Enjoy the BEST possible burn from your candles by trimming them with wick trimmer scissors.  During the burn of a candle, carbon often builds up on the wick, causing the wick to get slightly longer in it's height from the top of the candle wax. Lighting the wicks without trimming causes the flames to get bigger and to produce more soot and also to burn hotter/faster.  Therefore, it is essential to trim the candle wicks to 1/8"-1/4"/ .3-/.6 cm. before each burn.
