ABOUT TZIPPORAH
I’m a chandler (a candle maker), a soap maker, and an artist-in-training. I have always been an artist at heart—drawn to beauty, story, and the power of creativity to inspire the soul. For as long as I can remember, I’ve loved using my hands to create things that bring delight, meaning, and light to others.
About four years ago, before the birth of my fifth son, a vision took root in me: to unite my love of essential oils, scent, poetry, and storytelling with my passion for art. This vision became **Shemesh-Barbur Soap & Candles**—a place where fragrance, beauty, and inspiration come together to uplift the heart and transform the moment.

THE HEART BEHIND SHEMESH-BARBUR
My name is Tzipporah Bragg, but in my artistic work I'm known as Zipporah Shemesh-Barbur. This name, like my art and my candles, carries deep intention and symbolism.
Shemesh-Barbur is a union of two images that are central to my creative vision:

Shemesh (Sun): light, warmth, radiance, and joy

Barbur (Swan): grace, gentleness, beauty, and quiet wonder
The swan has long been a symbol of transformation in folklore and art—an elegant creature often used to portray the journey from hardship into beauty, strength, and renewal. This theme of inner transformation runs deeply through my work. The sun and the swan together express my belief that **light and transformation live within all of us**, and that beauty—inner and outer—emerges when we allow ourselves to grow, heal, and shine.
The name Shemesh-Barbur captures the heart of my mission:
to create art, candles, and scents that embody both *illumination* and *grace*, inspiring others to feel uplifted, moved, and connected to their own inner light.
